Visiting Professor of International Political Economics

Profile

Professor Dr Heribert Dieter researches on international economic relations at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), Berlin, and has been teaching at Zeppelin University since the fall semester of 2009.


Career:

Since 2000 associate fellow at the Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation of the World Economy, University of Warwick


1998 through 2001 postdoctoral research fellow, Institute for Development and Peace, Gerhard-Mercator-Universität Duisburg


Since 2006: associate professor at the Freie Universität Berlin


2005 through 2011: Member of the European Excellence Network GARNET


2009: co-director of the "Warwick Commission on International Financial Reform"

Member of the advisory boards of the journals Global Governance (USA), Pacific Review (Great Britain), and Business and Politics (USA)


Postdoctoral research fellow at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), research division "Global Issues". The "Global Issues" research division focuses on globalization, transnationalization, and internationalization trends. What are the risks and challenges of such trends? Which strategies could German and European policymakers pursue to deal with global challenges?


Research Areas:


International economic relations, globalization and regionalization, financial crises, re-design of the international financial system
