Visiting Professor of Consumer Behavior & Policy

Professor Dr oec. Lucia Reisch has held the position of permanent Visiting Professor of Consumer Behavior & Policy in the study program corporate management and economics at Zeppelin University since January 2011.

"I am enthusiastic about the new cooperation with ZU for this offers - in Germany almost unique - nearly everything in a consolidated form: world-class international research, interdisciplinarity as a norm and an ambition, outstanding students, a professional administration, and last but not least an uncomplicated cooperation and scope for thinking", is how the new ZU visiting professor, who is simultaneously professor at the Copenhagen Business School, describes her reasons for joining ZU.

The following research topics are examples of her research activities

  • Economic consumer protection, e.g. telecommunication, old-age provision, health sector, internet
  • Consumers and new technologies (especially: nanotechnology); risk perception and dialogues
  • Sustainable consumption and its communication (especially: energy, food, fashion)
  • Knowledge brokerage between business and politics in the area of sustainability

In the area of consumer behavior and consumer politics it is the aim to research and teach on a high academic level on issues in the areas of consumer politics and consumer behavior. The focus is on application-related, transdisciplinary research. Research oriented towards consumer politics, so far poorly positioned in Germany, is thus to be strengthened.
With a view to the increasing demand in evidence-based consumer politics the professorship does not only want to make its contribution to the scientific community, but also wants to develop further as an academic think tank for state and federal politics, the responsible business community, and civil society.
