Teaching Focus

Dedicated to an intense and collaborative teaching environment, our teaching efforts strive to impart a comprehensive understanding of theory with high everyday-life relevance of topics. Up-to-date didactical skills are used in designing and conducting seminars that connect personal experience to social and cultural research, providing students with the tools to analyze and understand communicative processes. Since the introduction of the priority program (“track”) in communication and media studies, we have contributed to the design and implementation of the curriculum. Central teaching areas are:


  • Theory of communication, society, and culture
  • Basics of communication and media research
  • Research seminars with affiliated teaching/research projects
