Visiting Professor of Economic Theory & Applied Econometrics


Professor Dr Ulrich Schittko studied economics in Munich, and - after his time as a research fellow at the Ruhr Universität Bochum (from 1966 to 1969) and his doctorate at the Universität München - worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Economics at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. After receiving his professorial teaching qualification in economic theory and econometrics in 1973 at Augsburg University, he accepted various visiting professorships (Universität der Bundeswehr in München, University of Kansas, Lawrence, USA, Universität Regensburg (1986-1989), and Universität Halle). From 1978 to 2006 Professor Schittko was Professor of Economic Theory and Econometrics at Augsburg University.

In his academic work Professor Schittko has concentrated on economic theory and has supervised a number of academic research studies on this topic at Augsburg University in recent years. In the academic year of 1992/93 he was Dean of the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at Augsburg University. He has written numerous articles on foreign trade issues and on dynamic economic theory in internationally renowned academic journals. His book publications are: "Lehrbuch der Außenwirtschaftstheorie" (1976) and, together with Professor Dr Günter Bamberg, "Einführung in die Ökonometrie" (1979).

Professor Schittko is a member of two committees of the "Verein für Socialpolitik"of the Deutsche wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Gesellschaft ("Theoretischer Ausschuss" and "Ausschuss für Außenwirtschaftstheorie und Außenwirtschaftpolitik")
