Prof. Dr. Anja Achtziger is appointed as a member of the Coordinating Committee of the Consumer Research Network with effect from 1 October 2018 for a further three-year term.
The Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection (BMJV) attaches great importance to consumer research, which is why the Consumer Research Network is supported by the BMJV. The goal is to promote consumer science in Germany, as they make a significant contribution to a well-founded and realistic consumer policy.
"Consumer research is an important and indispensable foundation of a reflected consumer policy. The Consumer Research Network has created the important opportunity to give consumer-oriented impulses to the research landscape. This applies to broader basic research as well as to specific consumer issues - especially in view of the important technologically induced changes in politics, the economy and society. Politics thus has the opportunity to include the results of research in the decision-making processes of consumer policy. I am convinced that with your scientific expertise and your personality, you will continue to enrich the interdisciplinary coordinating body decisively and provide important impulses both to the scientific community and to the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Research. With your work, consumer research in Germany will be further advanced. " Dr. Katarina Barley, MP in a personal letter to Mrs. Prof. Achtziger.
