The study program will teach you about all digital matters and theories based on the most recent academic research . It provides methods and tools in addition to interdisciplinary skills from a variety of academic viewpoints. Equipped with these techniques, you will be in a position to methodically carry out your own research activities. The final semester of the study program is therefore dedicated to writing a research-oriented, university-equivalent master's thesis.
The master's study program is taught in weekly blocks from Monday to Friday in small groups. It takes place at our campus in Friedrichshafen (10 modules), Berlin (1 module) and South Africa (1 module).
The master's study program consists of a single phase with mandatory modules, elective modules and the master's thesis.
Classroom-based modules & elective modules
Our classroom-based modules cover facets of management research relating to economics and social sciences, as well as legal, social and political aspects. In addition, elective modules allow you to fine-tune your personal profile and study alongside students from other eMA programs.
Project work
As a master's student, during the first twelve months
of the course you will do a project relating to your own business context in
parallel with your seminars. This project allows you to immediately apply the
content you have learned in a company environment and to consistently translate
theory into practice.
Master's phase
The master's phase involves the completion of the study program with the writing of the master's thesis and the subsequent thesis defense.

The executive, university-equivalent master's course takes an interdisciplinary approach and will enable you to develop and realize digital business models. Supervised by trainers and coaches, and with personalized and experience-based learning formats, you will expand your research skills and methodological know-how to enable you to effectively bring digital business models to fruition and drive innovations.
Practical application and the transfer of knowledge are at the forefront of the program. That's why you will work on a business project for the duration of the study program and, all going well, you will apply this specialist knowledge to your own business.
A key part of the Digital Pioneering | eMA DIP executive master's program is the week-long trip abroad which is run in cooperation with the University of Cape Town in South Africa and gives students the chance to apply their skills in an international context. The overseas module is designed to help develop cross-cultural perspectives and to reinforce the course content in real-life business situations abroad.
