Addressing the major societal issues of a rapidly changingfuture in the context of digitalization while studying on an individual basis: this is what the unique master's program “Interdisciplinary Research Master | IRMA” offers.
Within the framework of the interdisciplinary two-year master's program “Interdisciplinary Master | IRMA”, students are largely free to design their own curriculum alongside their own research project, in the spirit of liberal education.
The master program offers an individual and goal-oriented course of study and as it is project-based, it can significantly shorten the time required for a doctorate afterwards.
The IRMA master's program is designed for students with bachelor degrees in economics, sociology, cultural studies and philosophy, communication studies, and political and administrative sciences. It is particularly aimed at students with an interest in digitalization from a holistic perspective, who would like to work on a project basis and address the challenges of the future by looking at digitalization from a holistic perspective.
The new master's program creates the space to address scientific challenges in depth and to tackle big questions.
It enables students to think things through and implement an innovative research idea between economy, culture, and politics. Students also acquire skills that allow them to achieve scientific goals. The curriculum allows an individual interdisciplinary focus. This focus is always on the prerequisites and individual goal of each student.
A range of courses are held in English at ZU. Depending on your individual study project, it is possible to study the Master in Interdisciplinary Research completely in English. If you are interested in an English-only Master in Interdisciplinary Research, please contact the Admissions Team before applying.
