The library in FALL Semester 2021:

We are pleased to announce that with the start of the new semester, we will once again be able to offer you expanded services. However, special requirements continue to apply to the library in the matter of health protection, among other things.

  • Please observe the binding rules during your visit to the library. This is the only way we can maintain our services.
  • The service desk is staffed during service hours Monday through Friday.
  • When entering the library, registration at the service desk is required:

  • Use of the reading rooms only possible with prior binding place reservation via our booking system.


  • Unfortunately, access for external users is currently not possible. If you have any questions about the library or the return of media, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Furthermore, proof of a max. 24-hour-old negative COVID-19 rapid test is required for use of the library.
Alternatively: Proof of being a fully vaccinated or recovered person | 3G rule.


Returns by mail are still possible

  • You are also welcome to return your borrowed items by mail. As soon as we receive the media, they will be checked and returned.
  • You will receive a confirmation of receipt by e-mail as soon as we receive your return.
  • The shipping remains under your own responsibility and any costs incurred will not be covered.
  • The return is not complete until it has been processed by the library team (important for loan periods).

The library is accessible again on a limited basis.

Loan periods & extension:
We ask you to extend the loan period of already borrowed media online via the online catalog (OPAC). You can find an overview of the loan periods in your library account.

Remote access to online resources:
For access from outside the university network, please use the EZproxy. You have access to licensed and freely accessible content that allows remote access.
