Opening hours | Service hours

ZU students and employees have 24-hour access to our library with their student or employee ID.

ZU guests have access to the library during our service hours.


The lending and return of books is possible independently and also outside the service hours at our self-service machine. Unfortunately, the service of the self-service machine is not available for guests. Please contact the service desk of the library for loans and returns.

Service hours

Monday - Thursday
09:00 a.m. — 06:00 p.m.
Friday:
09:00 a.m. — 04:00 p.m.

Important information for guests:

Mon.-Thu.: from 04:30 p.m. the entrance doors are closed. Access to the library can be requested by phone until 06:00 p.m.

Service hours during the non-event period*

Monday - Thursday
09:00 a.m. — 03:00 p.m.
Friday:
09:00 a.m. — 03:00 p.m.

*Only in conjunction with an additional announcement in the news releases on the library's home page. Service hours will be adjusted if necessary.

24-hours access

ZU students and employees have 24-hour access to our library with their student or employee ID.

The 24-hour access can be suspended for certain events / periods. The periods of such closures will be announced separately. Events affected include but are not limited to the following:

  • Graduation Ceremony (depending on venue).
  • Summer party (depending on venue)

Note: Access cards must be updated every 24 hours at the main entrance door openers.

Semester & event-free period

Spring Semester | Summer Semester
Period: mid-end January to end of May
Fall Semester | Autumn Semester
Period: beginning of September until end of December
Event-free period

Period: beginning of June until end of August
