Living & Studying

Zeppelin University (ZU), with its own campus on the Lake Constance beach is situated in one of Germany's most attractive scenic areas. Nestled at the meeting point of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and in close proximity to inviting metropolises such as Zürich, Munich, and Stuttgart, the almost endless range of things on offer here will not just be pleasing to sports enthusiasts.

Has the Lake Constance region become more beautiful since ZU arrived? We ask the long-standing former Mayor of the City of Friedrichshafen, Josef Büchelmeier: "The city sees it as a positive signal that it managed, with the help of local industry, to set up such an innovative university in which professors, lecturers, and students think to the future in an interdisciplinary way. Life in Zeppelin's home town is enhanced by ZU's public offerings, like the CivicUniversity. Life here is gaining new momentum."

Felix Meissner, ZU Economics alumnus describes it as follows: "In my opinion the innovative spirit of the fastidious and entrepreneurial Swabians draws a lot of its inspiration from the beautiful, varied landscape that just makes you want to get out there and take up a sport: you've got the views across the foothills of the Alps when you are mountain climbing or snowboarding and Lake Constance as well which is perfect for diving, surfing, and sailing – here unconventional and good ideas usually develop out in nature and not sitting behind a desk!"

Housing

All ZU students reside in various apartments or rooms in the area. All apartments or rooms are furnished. The average cost of rent is 350 € - 450€ per month. Most students travel to campus by bike, car, bus or train. Accordingly, every attempt will be made to provide foreign guest students with an apartment along the bus or rail line.
