Curating the Context

The "Curating the Context" series is the artsprogram’s way of introducing prominent figures from the arts and cultural sectors: Museum directors, curators, conductors, publishers, art collectors or politicians discuss their work within the public talks program.

Public Lecture Series

Since 2013, the Chair of Art Theory and Curating, the artsprogram and, since 2017, the Chair of Cultural Theory and -Analysis have jointly organized public lecture series on a specific topic each year. Here, experts from the fields of art history, literature, music and film studies introduce and discuss significant works of art and their interpretation.

ContainerUni Lectures

With the temporary ContainerUni project, Zeppelin University self-experimented in a process that was both architectural and organizational and was guided by the notion of art as a force that can change everyday life. The ContainerUni Lectures and the Symposium "Plattforms of Urban Imagination" were developed by Hamburg-based artists Margit Czenki and Christoph Schäfer to reflect theoretically their artistic project by discussing this experiment in the context of other projects from around the world.

Plattforms of Urban Imagination
A co-operation between the artsprogram and the Chamber of Architects for Baden-Württemberg

This international symposium was designed as an invitation to think about urban life by the Hamburg-based artists Margit Czenki and Christoph Schäfer. The conference brought together architects, artists, urban planners, researchers and other institutions that radically extend their work into the urban space and aim to create platforms for collective imagination, production and discussion.
