Applicants for admission to a master's study program at Zeppelin University can be accepted if they have cumulatively fulfilled the prerequisites for admission to a state university (§ 70 (2) (4); §§ 58, 59, 60 of the law on universities and Berufsakademien in Baden-Wuerttemberg [LHG]), i.e. if they ...


  • have obtained the university entrance qualification or an equivalent certificate
  • have acquired an undergraduate degree at a nationally recognized university or an equivalent certificate
  • Very good knowledge of German for the Master's degree program PM
  • Very good knowledge of English for the Master's degree programs CME and IRGP

Admissions criteria for two-year master’s degree

  • Students with a non-subject-related first degree can also apply for the two-year Master's programmes International Relations & Global Politics | IRGP, Politics and Public Management | PM.

    | The admission requirement for the Master's in Corporate Management & Economics | CME is a Bachelor's degree in economics, as this was designed as a consecutive economics degree program.

Admissions criteria for a one-year master’s degree

  • Unfortunately, applicants with a first degree in a non-subject cannot be admitted to the one-year Master's programs.
  • For the one-year Master's degree programs, you need a first university degree in the subject area of the Master's you wish to study with at least 240 ECTS credits.

language requirements

  • The Master's degree programs in International Relations & Global Politics | IRGP and Corporate Management & Economics | CME are all English-language programs. A very good command of English is required and will be tested during our Pioneers Wanted! selection days, which is why no proof of English is required to apply. German language skills are desirable, but not a mandatory admission requirement.


  • Applicants who have not learned German as a native language and are applying for a Master's degree program that is conducted in German, among other languages, must provide proof of German language proficiency (level C1).

Proof of entitlement to examination

At the request of the university, the applicant must submit the relevant evidence within the set exclusion period and a declaration that he/she has not definitively failed an examination in any degree program at a German university that is related to the one at Zeppelin University, or has lost the right to take an examination for other reasons, or is currently undergoing an examination procedure.

Chinese, Mongolian or Vietnamese university entrance qualification

Applicants with a Chinese, Indian, Mongolian, or Vietnamese university entrance qualification must submit a certificate from the Academic Evaluation Center of the respective German embassy in addition to proof of higher education entrance qualification for the Federal Republic of Germany.
