Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Reference Works

Dictionary: Reference work that arranges and explains the vocabulary of a language according to specific points of view.

Encyclopedia: Structured presentation of human knowledge that is as comprehensive as possible; a distinction is made between universal and subject-specific encyclopedias.

Reference work: Generic term for dictionary, encyclopedia; a collection of data belonging to the technical literature, usually exhaustive in its field, which is arranged according to certain systematic or alphabetical criteria or can be searched according to such criteria.

Proof of Dissertations.

Fact Database

Fact collections (primary information indexed in form and content), e.g. statistical data, chemical formulas, company and product data.

Predominantly non-scientific information resources.

Image Databases

Collection of images and photos (management, archiving, viewing).

Inventory Directory

General and subject-specific catalogs of a bibliographic nature of libraries and other institutions.

National & Regional Bibliographies

Regional bibliography: publications from and / or about a specific region.

Newspaper

Continuous collective work, generally published regularly at least once a week, reports on current events.

A directory of newspapers and magazines arranged according to certain criteria.

Portal

Bundling of various databases, services or similar digital offerings in a usually high number of references (links) in the form of a website. (For example, access to research or an overview of a particular topic from the website).

Subject Bibliography

Proof of independently and / or dependent published works on one or more topics (subject areas).
