Individuality
In the classical Humboldtian sense, research on the cutting edge of the 21st century requires personalities. Research makes personalities - with a sense for questioning the in-between, i.e. asking questions that have not been asked before in this way and where you simply know that there is more than one productive answer. And personalities shape research - by sharp observation and asking innovative questions that concern society as a whole.
Relationally Able to Relate
The best way to learn research is by role models and by researching with others. And it is most successful in manageable teams with a clearly defined contact person and in groundbreaking cooperations between scholars on all levels of academic discovery.
