How can democratic legislative designs be empirically measured and compared?
In the first article of the DEMOLAW project, Steffen Hurka, Stefanie Rueß, Mike Cowburn, and Constantin Kaplaner argue that democratic laws systematically vary in their versatility and precision, and they develop a new typology of legislative designs. Using EU legislation in environmental and financial policy, they illustrate the value of this typology. The article is available open access in Policy Sciences.
