Double award at DELFI 2025: Best Poster & Best Demo Award
At this year's Educational Technologies Conference (DELFI 2025) of the German Informatics Society, Prof. Dr. Raphael Zender received two awards: Both the Best Poster Award and the Best Demo Award went to contributions with his participation. The poster contribution "Modular Open Source Framework for Inclusive Multi-User VR Learning Applications" (together with Frank Wehrmann, HU Berlin) presents a modular framework that supports developers in the design of inclusive and cooperative VR learning scenarios. Based on systematic literature analyses, flexible modules for communication, role management and accessibility were designed, which are to be provided as open source Godot plugins. The demo "Teach-R sports hall: extending the VR classroom with learning scenarios for the professionalization of sports teachers" (together with colleagues from HU Berlin and Kiel University) extends the VR framework Teach-R with a virtual sports hall. This enables prospective PE teachers to practice and reflect on teaching situations in a realistic way - from movement animations and non-verbal interactions to sensitive aspects such as "double vulnerability" in PE lessons. The two awards underline the relevance and visibility of the Chair's research work in the field of immersive educational technologies and at the same time recognize the successful collaboration with partner universities.
