We are very pleased to announce the new publication “Towards a Relational Theory of the Firm” by Professor Dr. Josef Wieland. The book is based on previous publications of the author on relational economics, introducing a new understanding of governance and management implications for companies. Published by Springer, it is a meaningful addition to shaping companies.
This new perspective is particularly evident in relation to pooled corporate resources and interests. Previous approaches that view companies as independent and isolated actors are being revised with new concepts - the relational leadership with relational costs and relational spaces, cooperation rent, shared value creation and a dynamic and process-oriented model.
The volume expands the already established book series „Relational Economics and Organization Governance"(REOG), which is published in collaboration by a team of scientists, including Lucio Biggiero, Derick de Jongh, Birger P. Priddat, Adrian Zicari, Jessica Geraldo Schwengber and Josef Wieland and others. The series analyzes economics through interdisciplinary perspectives from the fields of management, organizational theory and economic sociology.
“Towards a Relational Theory of the Firm” forms an important and complementary building block for the epistemological and methodological requirements of relational company theory, taking theoretical taxonomy into account. Relational business theory is a work in progress. You are therefore invited to join the dynamic research field and help shape the discussions with the publication available here.
