The Leadership Excellence Institute Zeppelin (LEIZ) at Zeppelin University and Hugenote Kollege in Wellington, South Africa, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement was signed early October 2026 by Prof. Josef Wieland, Director of LEIZ, Prof. Retha Bloem, Rector of Hugenote Kollege. It will initially run for three years.

The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions in research, teaching and internationalisation. Planned activities include reciprocal exchange of staff and students, collaboration in teaching, curriculum development and research, and joint applications for external project funding. The partners also intend to explore joint supervision of Master's and doctoral students, the development of joint programmes, and the organisation of conferences, seminars and symposia. Individual initiatives will be set out in separate, specific agreements.

Hugenote Kollege is a private Christian higher education institution whose roots go back to the Huguenot Seminary, founded in 1874. Today it focuses on training social leaders for social work and community engagement, with an emphasis on values-based leadership, resilience and compassion.

With this partnership, LEIZ extends its international network to include a partner institution in Southern Africa.
