ZU Best Teaching Award for Dr. Tobias Grünfelder for “Corporate Responsibility & Leadership”

10/06/2025

We congratulate Dr. Tobias Grünfelder, Fellow Researcher at LEIZ, on receiving the ZU Best Teaching Award in the spring semester of 2025 for his course “Corporate Responsibility & Leadership”. This award recognizes outstanding and innovative teaching with lasting added value for students.

The course “Corporate Responsibility & Leadership” was based on relational and transcultural educational approaches developed by Dr. Tobias Grünfelder in his research and work at LEIZ, the Transcultural Caravan, and the Abracademy, among others. These approaches understand learning as a collaborative process that transcends cultural and disciplinary boundaries and promotes co-creation, shared responsibility, and the development of shared meaning.

Highlights of the course included the analysis of current LEIZ case studies such as Netflix and the World Cup in Qatar. All current LEIZ case studies are freely available on our website and were developed in collaboration with Julika Baumann Montecinos, Dr. Matthias Niedenführ, Dr. Jessica G. Schwengberr, and others. The seminar was rounded off by Chris van der Schoor as a guest speaker. The course integrated the AI-based learning platform Acemate.AI which LEIZ currently evaluates in a pilot project.

The course was characterized by creativity, critical discussions, transcultural perspectives, and a whole lot of magic. The group activities brought the ZU spirit to life through curiosity, responsibility, and creative drive.
