Gaia-X 4 Advances Mobility Services (AMS) meets in Berlin

This week, a Gaia-X 4 Advanced Mobility Services (AMS) consortium meeting took place at the Fraunhofer Forum in Berlin. The Center for Mobility Studies and the Chair of Mobility, Trade and Logistics, represented by Jens Gessler, together with Christian Metzner from the htw saar Transport Telematics Research Group, presented the progress made on AMS policies, a cornerstone of our operator model, and the meeting focused on discussions about technological advances and the groundbreaking potential of an AMS data space.

What is the potential of Gaia-X 4AMS?

  • Imagine being able to instantly make your data or digital services available to a huge group of customers, globally or regionally, according to European standards.
  • You retain data sovereignty, every transaction / business transaction is transparently traceable for you and your customers can be identified and accessed in the event of a claim without having to conclude complicated contracts in advance.

The aim of the project is to build an open, scalable, decentralized data ecosystem. This ecosystem empowers industries, cities and municipalities to maintain their data sovereignty while reducing transaction costs and paving the way for innovative business models for future mobility.

The Center for Mobility Studies is involved in the Gaia-X projects 4AMS, 4ROMS and moveID and is developing the necessary governance, system architecture and operating models using, among other things, the theory of the institutional role model.

Together, we are not only observing the future of mobility; we are creating it on the way to a networked and more sustainable world.
