Friedrichshafen. Zeppelin University (ZU) has appointed Dr. Rouven E. Haschka to the Junior Professorship for Business Analytics & Data Science. Born in Stuttgart, he comes to Lake Constance from the University of Cologne and will strengthen the Department of Economics in the future.

"I am delighted to be able to continue my academic career at ZU. The university offers me a lot of creative freedom in research and teaching - in a family atmosphere that promotes a close community and personal exchange. I am particularly looking forward to sharing my passion for econometrics and statistics with inquisitive and committed students," says Haschka, explaining his reasons for moving to ZU.

Rouven E. Haschka studied a Bachelor's degree in Economics at the University of Hohenheim and a Master's degree in Applied Statistics at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. As a member of the Research Training Group 1644 "Scale Problems in Statistics", he received his doctorate from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Göttingen. For his postdoc, he initially stayed at the Chair of Statistics and Econometrics at the Georg-August University of Göttingen before moving to the Institute of Econometrics and Statistics at the University of Cologne. Most recently, he was Assistant Professor at the School of Management at the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom, while also teaching at the University of Cologne. Rouven E. Haschka is also a freelance management consultant and advises in the areas of quantitative methods, business forecasting and statistical modeling.

"More and more decisions are being made on the basis of data, both in companies and in organizations. It is therefore essential these days to be able to navigate the growing flood of data and apply various methods for data collection and analysis. With his expertise in empirical research and statistical analysis, Rouven E. Haschka is a great asset to our university in general and to our students in particular. After all, methodological skills are more in demand than ever before," explains ZU President Professor Dr. Klaus Mühlhahn.
