Leadership and Innovation in Asia

Not only is more than half of the world's population concentrated in Asia, but also an ever-increasing share of global value creation. Cooperation with companies from China, Japan and Korea, but increasingly also from Southeast Asia, has become a central part of the globalization strategy of companies from the DACH region. These need to be rethought in many companies due to recent phenomena such as the New Silk Road, the COVID pandemic and political narratives of decoupling in the local discourse.

The Leadership Excellence Institute Zeppelin | LEIZ has esablished a resaerch focus on East and Southeast Asia that specifically deals with ideas about leadership, innovation and management in companies and issues of promoting innovation in the region.

The research focus makes knowledge about transcultural leadership in Asian contexts accessible to a broader audience through its own research, events for science and business practice, and debate contributions in public discourse.

Transcultural Management

This focus area deals with the conditions for success of transcultural cooperation and leadership in contexts of cultural complexity. Multi-year research, innovative teaching formats and transfer projects continuously develop and are implemented and networked on the Transcultural Caravan platform. The Transcultural Caravan is a hub for global thinking, exchange, learning and networking.

Governance of Disruptive Technologies

Being confronted with technological advances disrupting the status quo, a paradigm shift on how to deal with the concomitting changes can be observed. The Leadership Excellence Institute Zeppelin | LEIZ builds on this by its work on the Governance of Disruptive Technologies in the Lake Constance region.

This work is channelled by the The Lake Constance Innovation Cluster Digital Transformation | BIC. It is based on the conviction that the Lake Constance region, as one of the most innovative technology regions in Europe, has extensive explicit and implicit knowledge about the framework conditions, consequences and, above all, opportunities in the context of the digital transformation. The BIC brings together research institutions, technology companies and other relevant stakeholders in the region.
