The sociologist and leading theorist of cultural management, Prof. Milton Bennett from the University of Milan Bicocca, visited the LEIZ from October 16th to 18th and took part in various LEIZ courses and a workshop.
A public workshop on leadership and transcultural complexity took place on October 17th. Prof. Bennet particularly addressed mutual adaptation to create a third culture at the level of culturally mixed participants in corporate collaborations as well as different leadership styles in connection with different types of perception.
In the Corporate Responsibility and Leadership course by Prof. Josef Wieland and Dr. Jessica Geraldo Schwenger introduced Prof. Bennet to the Bennet scale he developed and recent further developments of the concept.
In the course Governance in Global Value-creating Networks by Dr. Matthias Niedenühr, Dr. Jessica Geraldo Schwenger and Lukas Belser, Milton discussed the consequences of ethnocentric and ethnorelative positions for the possibilities of transcultural management.
Prof. Bennet is a valued expert member of the international research network Relational Economy, which has already held three conferences to deepen this approach since 2019.
