Transcultural Leadership Summit 2023: Exploring Global Perspectives on Sustainability!

This year, the Transcultural Leadership Summit (TLS) was a collaborative effort by various universities and was organized as a hybrid and decentralized event. The summit took place at multiple locations, including Zeppelin University (Germany), the University of Pretoria (South Africa), the HFU Business School (Germany), the Academy for Cultural Diplomacy (Germany), and Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), as an online event that attracted over 350 participants worldwide.

The Transcultural Caravan Network invited participants on a journey to explore different perspectives on sustainability from Germany, India, China, South Africa, and Brazil. The summit highlighted that each region faces unique sustainability challenges and that solutions can be found globally.

Keynote speaker Prof. Tima Bansal from Ivey Business School emphasized positive psychology and appreciative inquiry as approaches to address climate change. She encouraged innovation for desirable futures and the fostering of local circular economies.

Prof. Dr. Josef Wieland, director of the LEIZ and founder of the Transcultural Caravan, stressed in his closing remarks that sustainability requires leadership at all organizational levels. Furthermore, he emphasized that the current challenges cannot be solved by a single actor alone, making Transcultural Cooperation Essential.

We received positive feedback from our international audience, with one participant stating that the TLS "the best online conference I have ever attended. Aside from the content, which was both engaging and thought-provoking, the professionalism with which the conference was delivered was second to none."
