KfW Student and Education Loan

Who is eligible?

• Bachelor and Master programs as a first or second degree
• Doctoral degrees

Purpose of the loan
The KfW student loan will support you during your studies with a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 650 Euros per month – without loan security and independent from income or assets.

Who can apply?
Students of legal age at a state or state-recognized higher education institution located in Germany who are under the age of 44 on April 1st or October 1st prior to the start of financing and belong to one of the following groups:

• German citizens with a domestic primary residence
• EU citizens
• So-called educational residents with a German primary residence and German higher education entrance qualificationg

Financing model

• Monthly disbursement amount between 100 and 650 euros
• Only accrued interest must be paid during the study period
• Variable interest rate
• Repayment begins after the grace period of 18 months starting from the last payment
• Maximum repay period of 25 years
