With the ZU Scholarship, Zeppelin University (ZU)  not only awards scholarships for highly gifted students or for young people with outstanding achievements. ZU also awards scholarships for outstanding commitment in the cultural, musical or artistic fields. It also supports social and political commitment and honorary office, as well as outstanding athletic achievements.

But what about those who have dropped out of their studies or training, who have been left behind or have had a failure in setting up their own business, and who may very well have special abilities? Young people who are simply different, who have had experiences beyond success and have reflected on them, thus contributing to the diversity of a course of study and a university. The criteria for applying for a ZU scholarship are as diverse as the life stories of the students at ZU.

Who is the ZU scholarship offer aimed at?

In addition to the above criteria, applicants with one or more of the backgrounds listed below are equally eligible to apply for a ZU scholarship:

    • Failing to attend classes
    • Dyslexics and dyscalculics
    • Dyscalculics and dyscalculiacs
    • Foundational Pleitiers
    • Nerds
    • Undergraduate students with children
    • Undergraduate students whose parents did not go to university
    • Immigrant students
    • Dropouts from higher education
    • Dropouts from education and training
    • Applicants who are 30 years old or older
    • Applicants from non-EU countries
    • Applicants who have completed the second or third stage of their education

Background of the ZU Scholarship

Kübra Karatas (BA CCM, Start 2013) | ZU scholarship holder

"I am very happy to be a ZU scholarship holder. Without this full scholarship, I would not have been able to afford to study CCM at ZU. The confidence that comes with it encourages me not only to study, but also to help shape the university."

With the ZU Scholarship, Zeppelin University enables financially disadvantaged applicants to invest in the future. The ZU Scholarship is granted as a waiver of tuition fees in the amount of 25, 50, 75, or 100 percent upon successful scholarship application for the duration of studies in the standard period of study and is aimed exclusively at first-year students.

Regardless of financial background, we would like to offer every applicant the opportunity to apply for the ZU scholarships, in order to make it possible, above all, for special personalities with special life paths to study at Zeppelin University.

Important: Please note that we can only award a limited number of ZU scholarships per study start. This unfortunately makes it impossible for us to consider every scholarship application.

How do I apply for a ZU scholarship?

The ZU scholarships are aimed at study starters of all programs offered at ZU.

The application for the scholarship takes place exclusively in the context of your application for a study place, i.e. before the start of your studies. In the online form, use the upload field for a letter of motivation for the scholarship. On the selection day, the selection committee will decide whether you will be admitted to the program; it will also make a recommendation on the granting of a scholarship. A few days after the selection day, you will receive a message about the outcome of your scholarship application together with the contract documents.

ZU scholarships are awarded exclusively within the framework of the selection process, i.e. before the start of studies.

Important: Applicants can only apply for one scholarship as part of their online application. After submitting the online application or successfully participating in one of our selection days, it is no longer possible to reapply for the ZU Scholarship or the ZU Scholarship for Graduates of Friedrichshafen Schools Scholarship.
