The ZU
Foundation, the responsible body of ZU, has a new chairman. The ZU Foundation
Board has now appointed Dr. Andreas Kamm, CFO of Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH and
already a member of the ZU Foundation Board for more than five years, as its
chairman. Kamm thus succeeds Professor Thomas Sigi, whose term of office has
ended.
“I value the exchange between science and business and am therefore very
pleased to continue my work at the ZU Foundation. My thanks go to the ZU
Foundation Board for the trust they have placed in me. I would also like to
thank Thomas Sigi for the very constructive cooperation and trusting
partnership over the past few years. I look forward to exchanging ideas and working
together with Eckart von Westerholt,” said Andreas Kamm on his appointment as
Chairman of the ZU Foundation Board.
Dr. Eckart von Westerholt, Head of Innovation in Research and Development at ZF
Friedrichshafen AG, was also appointed as a new member of the ZU Foundation
Board. He succeeds Detlef Gagg, whose term has also ended.
“Our
sincere and heartfelt thanks go to Thomas Sigi, who has been a reliable
advocate and partner during his tenure. He has contributed greatly to the
development of Zeppelin University and we have a lot to thank him for,” said ZU
President Professor Klaus Mühlhahn. “We are now looking forward to an even
closer cooperation with Andreas Kamm, who has gained considerable knowledge and
understanding of how Zeppelin University works, thanks to his many years of
involvement with the ZU Foundation. We also look forward to working with Eckart
von Westerholt, whose work in innovation and research and its application make
him virtually predestined for the tasks associated with a university.
Peter Gerstmann, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Zeppelin Group and Chairman of the ZU Foundation Board, concurred: “I am very sorry that Thomas Sigi and Detlef Gagg are leaving the ZU Foundation Board and would like to express my thanks for the work they have done for which I have the utmost respect. The ZU Foundation is an important driver for university operations and I am very pleased that we now have Andreas Kamm and Eckart von Westerholt on board, two experienced managers from the business world who will bring their perspective to the foundation's work. After all, that's what's so special about Zeppelin University – it makes a decisive contribution to the dialog between business and industry.”
