Basic funding of Zeppelin University secured for the long term

The basic funding of the private Zeppelin University (ZU) in Friedrichshafen will be restructured from 2027. In recent years, ZU has been financed primarily by the Zeppelin Foundation. From 2027, Zeppelin GmbH and ZF Friedrichshafen AG will also participate in the long-term financing.

"We are pleased to announce that the two companies are participating in the financing of ZU, underlining the great importance of ZU for both ZF and Zeppelin," says ZU Managing Director Thomas Brandt. "The longer-term financing horizon for the coming years in particular creates new perspectives and framework conditions for excellent research and teaching at ZU."

Andreas Hein, First Mayor of the City of Friedrichshafen, also welcomes the news: "Zeppelin University is an important part of the educational landscape in Friedrichshafen. This sustainable solution lays the foundation for a consistent continuation of the reform course already embarked upon by ZU and a long-term anchoring of the institution in the Lake Constance region."

Since its foundation in 2003, Zeppelin University has been a foundation university under private sponsorship. It combines research and teaching at the interface of business, culture and politics. The university has recently implemented structural reforms and realigned its educational offerings. Prof. Dr. Anja Achtziger, newly elected President of ZU, continues: "Due to high demand, we will be offering a new two-year Master's degree course in Psychology & Management from the autumn semester of 2026."
