He began his academic career at the University of Konstanz and is now returning to his home on Lake Constance.
"With his focus on European politics, Prof. Dr. Hurka will enrich the political science department at ZU and provide new impetus for research and teaching," said ZU President Prof. Dr. Klaus Mühlhahn. "Numerous students at Zeppelin University aspire to a career in international politics. A profound understanding of the European legislature is therefore of great importance. Zeppelin University wishes Prof. Dr. Steffen Hurka a good start and successful research in Friedrichshafen".
Prof. Dr. Steffen Hurka is looking forward to his new task: "It is a great pleasure for me to be able to pursue my research at beautiful Lake Constance again. At ZU, I will continue to work on political challenges in the European Union and, as part of my DEMOLAW project funded by the European Research Council, I will also investigate how we can measure and compare the content of democratic laws with artificial intelligence on a large scale."
