Friedrichshafen. 22-year-old Till Burberg has been appointed as the new student Vice President of Zeppelin University (ZU). The Communication, Culture and Management Bachelor's student will take over from Emilia Bös on February 1, whose term of office ends after one year. Till Burberg will be a full-time and fully-fledged member of the Executive Board for one year and will bring a student perspective to the role.

"I want to help ensure that Zeppelin University retains its particularly vibrant community even in times of change and looks to the future with confidence, critical thinking and interdisciplinarity. And so I am very much looking forward to actively shaping the current transformation processes as student Vice President," says Till Burberg on the occasion of his appointment. In addition to his strategic work on the Executive Board, it is important to him to develop existing and build new bridges between students and university management as well as between the university and the city.

Born in Düsseldorf and raised in Mettmann and Solingen, Till Burberg's urge to ask questions and his desire to critically examine and question things from different angles were the reasons why he took up a degree course - the first ever in his family to do so. Outside of his actual studies, he has also demonstrated his talent for communication and organization and his ability to bring together different perspectives several times in recent years at university and beyond. As part of StudentLounge e.V., the umbrella organization of student initiatives, he was responsible for internal and external communication for two years. Together with his predecessor Emilia Bös, he also took over the overall management of the "Long Night of Music" music festival, at which around 800 visitors enthusiastically followed the performances of 14 artists on three stages. In addition to his studies in communication and cultural studies, Till Burberg has been working as an artist manager for the Stuttgart band "SHIMMER." since June 2024, organizing tours of Germany and developing marketing strategies.

The assumption of office by the new student Vice President also marks the end of Emilia Bös' term of office, who will now continue her Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Administrative Science and International Relations. During her time as student Vice President, she has opened up and established new channels for participation, information and communication, as well as expanding relations with the city through university and student events, meetings and exchange formats. "This year on the Executive Board has once again made it very clear to me how much strength there is in our university community, especially when different perspectives work together rather than against each other. For me, the student perspective was never a symbolic place, but a work assignment. Students must be visible where decisions are prepared and made. What I take with me is confidence: if we understand transformation as a collaborative learning process, Zeppelin University will remain vibrant, critical and unifying," explains Bös.

Emilia Bös was the fifteenth holder of the office after Lena Haas (2024), Amar Günther (2023), Moritz Schön (2022), Matthias Eckmann (2021, 2020), Fabian Zitzmann (2019), Josefine M. Meibert (2018), Said Djamil Werner (2017), Martin Bukies (2016), Hannes Werning (2015), Laura Niemann (2014), Michelle Mallwitz (2013), Nora Schäfer (2012), Lena Schulze-Gabrechten (2011) and Simon Pagany (2010).

In addition to the student Vice President Till Burberg, the five-member Executive Board of ZU includes President Professor Dr. Anja Achtziger, Vice President Research Professor Dr. Matthias Weiss, Vice President Teaching Professor Dr. Christian Adam and Managing Director Thomas Brandt. The tasks of the Executive Board include structural and development planning, further development of research and teaching as well as quality assurance.
