Due to the recent events, the Chair of Art Theory & Curating, the Chair of Cultural Theory and -Analysis, and the artsprogram prepared a lecture series and a symposium with philosophers, sociologists, media theorists, economists, and artists on the topic “Crises of Reality”. The program responds to the recent political developments and the questionable talk of “post-truth” and deals with the questions: What is reality today? How important is it to think of the social world in terms “reality”?
If – as appears to be the case in current politics – ‘fact checking’ has no considerable effect on voter behavior, then the social and cultural construction of reality follows different laws than it did only a couple of years ago.
