Friedrichshafen. Zeppelin University (ZU) is once again one of the best-placed universities in the recently published University Ranking 2026/27 by the Centre for Higher Education (CHE). It occupies a top position among all German universities and colleges in the area of Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in economics.
"We are delighted with our excellent performance in the CHE University Ranking. The fact that our university has been voted into the top group by our students for the seventh time in a row confirms the high quality and recognition of our research and teaching in the field of economics," commented ZU President Professor Dr. Anja Achtziger on the success. Student Vice President Till Burberg adds: "From a student perspective, the excellent result in the CHE University Ranking is very fitting. We are convinced of our business studies programs and this is well reflected in the ranking."
In particular, satisfaction with the overall study situation was rated as outstanding. ZU was also ranked in the top group of all German universities and colleges in terms of the range of courses and the organization of studies, the support provided by lecturers, support for stays abroad and during studies, the quality of learning and working spaces, professional and practical orientation and digital learning.
This is now the seventh time that the CHE University Ranking has examined ZU's degree programs in Business and Economics. ZU has achieved a top position in all of the rankings carried out. In 2014, 2017, 2020 and 2024, separate rankings were also compiled for the first time in the Master's degree program in Business and Economics, in which ZU also achieved top positions.
In the CHE University Ranking, a third of the subjects at German universities and colleges are re-evaluated every year. In the current university ranking, the subjects of law, business administration, economics, economics, business informatics, industrial engineering, business psychology, business law and social work were examined. For more than 25 years, the CHE University Ranking has been regarded as the most comprehensive and detailed ranking of its kind in the German-speaking world, with around 120,000 students surveyed, and is also used in other countries. In addition to facts on studies, teaching, facilities and research, the ranking includes students' opinions on the study conditions at their university or college.
