The Leadership Excellence Institute Zeppelin is pleased to announce the release of the second set of publications in the Relational Economics in Practice series. This series offers in-depth analyses of real-world challenges related to stakeholder management and relational economics.
Over the past several months, the publication of these case studies has been coordinated to ensure consistency with the established format and structure, developed in collaboration with Prof. Josef Wieland and Julika Baumann Montecinos.
The latest release includes four distinct case studies. The case #7, authored by Dr. Jessica G. Schwengber and Prof. Josef Wieland, explores corporate ethical dilemmas and relational decision-making, particularly highlighting the complexities corporations face in adhering to labor laws and preventing child labor within global value chains.
Case #8 by Dr. Matthias Niedenführ and Prof. Josef Wieland addresses the dilemmas arising from global sourcing. It illustrates practical ways sourcing managers can navigate cultural differences and foster relational trust within value chains.
Case #9 by Tobias Grünfelder and Christian van der Schoor focuses on Netflix and examines the company's challenges in balancing freedom of expression with diversity, LGBTQ rights, and cultural sensitivities in the global media industry.
The final case study Case #10, authored by Sina Heer and Dr. Sabine Wiesmüller, provides insights into a German startup specializing in AI-driven quality control for the automotive sector. It highlights how Shared Value Creation (SVC) can effectively manage the regulatory demands of the EU AI Act.
These case studies are available as open-access resources, specifically designed to enrich the educational experience for educators and students in business and economics. Readers are encouraged to widely share these resources, thereby broadening access and fostering a deeper understanding of relational economics in real-world applications.
