ZU maintains close contact with US universities. The new US Consul General Brian Heath paid a visit to get to know the Friedrichshafen university.
Brian Heath has been the Consul General at the US Consulate General in Frankfurt am Main since August 2024, succeeding Norman Thatcher Scharpf, who visited Zeppelin University in May last year. At the time, Scharpf was a guest at a Global Talk organized by the Student Club of International Politics.
To continue the fruitful exchange of ideas between the US Consulate and Zeppelin University students, Consul General Brian Heath took the time last week to visit ZU's ZF campus and meet with students.

An in-depth discussion between Heath and political science students naturally also focused on current US politics. Heath confidently discussed with the students how US policy currently differs from European policy and explained in detail what perspective the USA currently has on world events.
Heath also emphasized the long partnership that has existed between the USA and Germany. He emphasized the shared values and goals of both countries. And he looked to the future: "It is exciting to see what the next chapter of our shared history will be."

On this occasion, some of the politics students expressed a great interest in visiting an American university and inquired about practical recommendations for obtaining a visa. After all, attending a US university is still a dream of many students who want to pursue an international career as a politician or diplomat. "The key is still this: follow the visa rules." Then nothing stands in the way of a student exchange, even today. On the contrary: Consul General Heath emphasized that his consulate is always available to help ZU students with any questions regarding academic exchange.

ZU President Professor Anja Achtziger also took the time to talk to Consul General Heath about current education policy issues.
She gave him and his entourage a tour of the ZF campus and explained to Heath the networks and connections that exist between ZU and US universities. Both sides emphasized their desire to continue to support and strengthen these connections.
