Workshop and Panel Discussion on International Organizations and Peace Operations

A workshop with international guests took place at Zeppelin University on December 8 and 9. The workshop focused on the experiences of international organizations such as the United Nations in the field of humanitarian and peace interventions. A key challenge for these international actors is to build a (knowledge) bridge to the local society to adequately address their specific interests and needs.

As part of the workshop, a panel discussion with students from Zeppelin University, co-organized with the Club of International Politics, took place on December 8. The discussion revolved around the question of what current challenges the United Nations face in peace operations. Participants in the discussion were:

  • Marco Donati (United Nations, Department for Peace Operations)

  • Dr. Fiffi Edu-Afful (Kofi Annan Peacekeeping Center)

  • Annika Hansen (Center for International Peace Operations)
  • Prof. Dr. Klaus Mühlhahn (ZU)
  • Prof. Dr. Sarah von Billerbeck (University of Readings)

The workshop was organized by the Chair of Public Administration & Public Policy.
