In her dissertation, Judith Reinbold studies the news medias’ framing of political decisions and actions regarding defense policy and military issues. Multimodal framing analysis is applied to news reports about the Bundeswehr’s participation on the UN peacekeeping mission MINUSMA in Mali in order to investigate how political, military, and civil actors are linguistically and visually represented. One focus is on phenomena that are typical for media representations of Africa in Europe, such as othering and stereotyping. Further, her research examines typical phenomena of war journalism such as the ‘rally-around-the-flag-effect’ and patriotic journalism.

A mixed-methods approach is selected for the empirical work to facilitate a comprehensive analysis of a large corporation's integration of generative AI. The examination of the AI introduction entails various components, including its technical implementation, the challenges posed by technology, communicative support, and employee training and assistance. The work aims to provide insights into effects of Artificial Intelligence (in interaction, organization, and work processes).
