On September 19 and 30, Zeppelin University hold the workshop “Relational Governance and World Politics – Theoretical Concepts, Empirical Evidence, Practical Challenges”. The workshop was jointly organized by Prof. Simon Koschut (International Security Policies), Prof. Maria Debre (International Relations), Prof. Steffen Eckhard (Public Administration & Public Policy) and Prof. Josef Wieland (Leadership Excellence Institute Zeppelin).
The interdisciplinary workshop had contributions invited from the fields of political science, economics, public administration, law as well as cultural studies and social sciences, with junior and senior participants from different methodological and theoretical backgrounds. We welcomed guests from neighboring Constance and St. Gallen Universities, but also from Estonia (Tallinn University), Italy (LUISS and University of L’Aquila), Poland (Lodz University) and the US (University of Texas at San Antonio) to come to Friedrichshafen. We had dedicated panels on “New players in global society”, “New forms of global governance”, “Theoretical conceptions of relationality in International Relations“ and on “new and innovative research methods”, such as social network analysis, participatory action research, or machine-based learning. We hope the research on this promising topic of relationality in governance will continue in the future.
We thank Marieluna Frank (Global Governance) and Lukas Belser (LEIZ) for the preparation to make this conference work.
