Friedrichshafen. 21-year-old Emilia Bös has been appointed as the new student Vice President of Zeppelin University (ZU). The student of the Bachelor's degree program in Politics, Public Administration and International Relations replaces Lena Haas on February 1, whose term of office ends after one year as scheduled. Emilia Bös will be a full-time and full-fledged member of the Executive Board for one year, where she will bring a student perspective.

"We have a challenging and pioneering year ahead of us. Major changes are imminent, changes that need to be weighed up and moderated. I am therefore all the more pleased to have the opportunity to help shape and support our university so comprehensively as part of the Executive Board," says Emilia Bös on the occasion of her appointment. In the coming year in office, she would like to open up and establish new channels of participation, information and communication in order to strengthen understanding and openness towards one another as well as mutual trust and respect. She would also like to expand relations with the city of Friedrichshafen through university and student events, meetings and exchange formats.

Emilia Bös, born in Worms, grew up in an environment characterized by agriculture and local politics. At the family-run winery, she learned what it means to take on responsibility and lend a hand in sales, marketing and administration. From her father, who was involved in local politics, she learned how important a respectful culture of discussion is in order to achieve constructive results. She decided to study for a Bachelor's degree in Politics, Public Administration and International Relations because she found ZU to be a place of respectful cooperation and joint creativity. As early as the second semester of her Bachelor's degree, she began working as an assistant to the student Vice President and familiarized herself with the requirements and tasks associated with the position. She gained further experience in representing student interests and in university politics in and around committees as one of four elected student senators.

Lena Haas' term of office ends when the new student Vice President takes office, and she will now continue her Bachelor's degree in economics. During her time as student Vice President, she was involved in the organization and implementation of the university's reaccreditation process. She also represented the President's Office to the students and vice versa, introduced new students to the university and implemented projects on sustainability, diversity, teaching and internationalization. In order to improve cooperation between the city of Friedrichshafen and the students, she took part in various city events as a university representative.

Lena Haas was the fourteenth holder of the office after Amar Günther (2023), Moritz Schön (2022), Matthias Eckmann (2021, 2020), Fabian Zitzmann (2019), Josefine M. Meibert (2018), Said Djamil Werner (2017), Martin Bukies (2016), Hannes Werning (2015), Laura Niemann (2014), Michelle Mallwitz (2013), Nora Schäfer (2012), Lena Schulze-Gabrechten (2011) and Simon Pagany (2010).

In addition to the student Vice President Emilia Bös, the four-member Executive Board includes ZU President Professor Dr. Klaus Mühlhahn as Chairman, Vice President Research Professor Dr. Anja Achtziger and Vice President Teaching Professor Dr. Josef Wieland. The tasks of the Executive Board include structural and development planning, further development of research and teaching as well as quality assurance.
