Udo J. Vetter Support Fund Travel Scholarships

The “Udo J. Vetter Support Fund Travel Scholarships” seek to encourage outstanding students at Zeppelin University to participate in professionally significant, geographically distant scientific conferences and meetings as well as in practice-based projects. The assessment of financial need is made by the applicant himself.


"Udo J. Vetter Support Fund Travel Scholarships" supports travel expenses of the following engagements:


    • Study abroad
    • Participation in scientific congresses and conferences
    • Group excursions (participation in a group application does not exclude an individual application)
    • Internships abroad (with earnings of max. 1,000 EUR per month)


Selection Process

Submit a scholarship application including scholarship cover sheet (see attachment below), project description (letter of motivation) and cost estimate, internship contract if applicable.


Please also indicate which part of the costs you would be willing to bear yourself, if applicable, or which part of the costs would be financed by third parties. Please also state the importance of the stay abroad in your studies and how it will be connected to your studies. For conferences, meetings, excursions, etc., please include a program plan.


Requirements

    • An application is possible for BA-Students from the 3rd semester onwards, for MA-Students from the 2nd semester onwards, provided that academic credits from ZU are available
    • Current grade point average of 2.0 or better in grades previously earned at ZU
    • The application must be submitted to Katharina Brugger at least 4 weeks before the start of the trip (therefore please also explicitly state when your trip starts)
    • Submitting the scholarship cover sheet
    • Submit a scholarship application including project description and cost estimate. In addition, explain the importance the stay abroad will have in your studies and how it will be connected to your studies.
    • Submitting the internship contract
    • Submission of a current curriculum vitae in tabular form
    • Submission of current Transcript of Records indicating overall grade point average (GPA).
    • During the study period, one scholarship per person can be awarded for a semester abroad and one for an internship abroad. Bachelor's studies, master's studies as well as doctoral studies count as separate periods of study in each case.

Selection Commission:

The awarding of the scholarships is decided by a three-member committee consisting of:


  • Head of InternationalOffice
  • Head of Strategic Partnerships
  • Academic Program Leader (APL) of the department in which the student is studying

Please submit the travel grant application to StudentAffairs | StAr at kthrnbrggrzd in PDF format at least four weeks prior to travel. Please combine the documents into one PDF file.


A cover sheet not completed truthfully, will disqualify the application. The travel scholarship is compatible with other scholarships.


If the reviewers decide in favor of funding, the scholarship holder will be funded with a sum of between € 150.00 and € 600.00 and will receive feedback on this within 8-10 weeks.
