General Information

Enhanced house rules: Access and participation restriction, compulsory masks, hygiene guidelines

The ZU is still accessible to all members of the university.

To protect the health of members, family members and guests of ZU, the existing house rules for the period from Sept. 1, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2021 were supplemented by a series of rules of conduct.

The summary of the most important changes:

Prohibition of access and participation

  • ZU affiliated persons can re-enter the university as usual with the start of the Fall Semester 2021 as of Sept. 4, 2021 or visit the work and teaching rooms again. The so-called 3-G rule applies. In this respect, access is only permitted to persons who can show their vaccination, recovery or negative testing with regard to the corona virus as defined in §§ 4 II and 5 II and III CoronaVO-LBW. For special regulations for employees regarding the 3-G rule, please refer to the information message from the Human Resources Department dated Sept. 1, 2021.

  • In accordance with the currently valid Corona Ordinance of the State of Baden-Württemberg, a ban on entry and participation applies to persons suspected of being infected who are or have been in contact with a person infected with the corona virus if 14 days have not yet passed since the last contact, or who show typical symptoms of an infection with the corona virus, namely odour and taste disorders, fever, cough and sore throat.

  • Non associated persons of ZU, such as service providers, lecturers, alumni, guests, etc., entering the university buildings is only permitted for a valid reason; the contact data and the time of entering or leaving ZU must be documented by the check-in or by the inviting person using a prescribed form. Responsibility for carrying out the documentation is up to the inviting person. Completed forms must be handed in at check-in or kept there.

Duty to wear masks

  • In all university buildings it is obliged to wear a medical mask that covers mouth and nose, on all traffic areas (including the library, cafeteria, and sanitary facilities) up to the work or seminar room.

Hygiene guidelines

  • A minimum distance of at least 1.5 meters to other people must be maintained. Hugs, shaking hands and any similar actions are prohibited. Wearing a face mask does not release from the obligation to maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters to other persons.

  • In order to maintain the distance rule, all buildings are required to walk on the right. The one-way route regulations are marked accordingly and must be observed. A maximum of two persons are permitted in the elevators.

  • To maintain the rules of hygiene, it is strongly recommended to wash your hands regularly and thoroughly (at least 20 seconds) with soap and water.

  • The print rooms as well as the public areas (foyer, floors, and intermediate zones) are equipped with disinfectant dispensers or columns for disinfecting the hands. In the classrooms and meeting rooms, disinfectant wipes and disposable gloves are provided for disinfecting furniture (especially table surfaces).
  • When visiting service facilities and courses within Zeppelin University, data is collected via the Luca App.

Since mid-June, the Corona Warning App published by the Robert Koch Institute has been available to the German government to help track and interrupt chains of infection. Our urgent request is to download, install and use this app on your cell phone.

The complete enhanced house rules can be found here at ZU|niverse and on the notice boards at both locations.
