To achieve a well-rounded mix of relevant and future-oriented topics, and to incorporate submissions from various disciplinary backgrounds as well as different status groups, we have decided on an alternative review procedure.
The review procedure will take place in a single-blind, two-tiered process:
In the first stage, the organizers will make a preselection based on the submitted extended abstracts and classify them according to topics that match the respective panels of the conference.
In the second stage, reviewers rate the preselected and topically organized submissions for the panels based on a point score model. This will be the foundation for the final selection and the preparation of the program. For every panel, we plan to have four or five reviewers who will rank the submissions. The rating criteria are oriented towards the factors of relevance of the topic/question for the panel and conference. Factors that will be considered include the quality of the theoretic foundation, appropriateness of the approach (or rather, the feasibility of the proposed undertaking), and the clarity/conciseness of the depiction.
