Michael Pfefferle studied Politics, Administration & International Relations (PAIR) at ZU. He received the Best Thesis Award for his master's thesis on the political control of municipal enterprises. Today, he works for the digital association Bitkom as Head of Smart City and Smart Region.
"In my bachelor's degree, I enjoyed studying the theories of political science, but often missed the practical and realistic relevance. No wonder that many prospective political scientists are disoriented about where their professional journey will take them. ZU and the lecturers, on the other hand, have a clear claim to combine current topics from politics, society and economics with research. And today I know that we as a society need young, digital-savvy and communicative minds for the many challenges facing the state and administration."
"The studies at ZU prepared me very well for my current activities. The combination of political and critical analysis on social and economic phenomena as well as stakeholder-oriented communication are the basics in my daily work with people from politics, journalism, industry or administration."
"...I wish back to the coffee breaks with fellow students and lecturers on the "Beach of Good Hope". The most exciting discussions often continued away from the seminar - and in many a Berlin pub we still do to this day."
